My name is Sophia. I'm a communication designer, illustrator and tattoo artist originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and based in Paris.
I graduated in Communication Design at Fine Arts Faculty at Porto University (UP). In Rio, I have had Photography - Technical Images and Expanded Photography classes at the Visual Arts School (EAV) Parque Lage. Before moving to Europe, I attended to two years of Architecture and Urbanism at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
I am deeply passionate about illustration as a tool of transforming my surroundings and therefore of building new realities through visual experience. My experiments with illustration and graphic design assume a playful perspective as an intent to defy the ideas of “normality” and “righteousness”. I'm also curious about the skin and the city walls as expanded medias of illustration.
My main interests also concern book design, communication/image philosophy, and visual arts.
