Rio, mars 2020
This photographs were taken in a process of reunion with the city where I grew up, after a year living in Portugal. I wasn't even able to experience Rio as much as I needed when the pandemic started and we all found our selves in lockdown. During quarantine, paradoxically missing the city where I was living, feeling like I haven't ever really arrived home, photographic manipulation was my way of expressing the absence, the memories, the distorted sense of time and place and the multiple unnamed feelings the isolation brought.
Luísa is my dear childhood friend. I took some pictures of her, as well as the places we passed by, when we met as soon as I arrived in Rio. Two weeks before we were all separated once again.
